Another Blog Year
I read somewhere recently that a “blog year” was the amount of time elapsed between two blog posts saying, “Wow! Sorry I haven’t been posting recently.” I’ve been down, down, down. My internet connection has been done down. But I begin afresh…

Cernunnos, Celtic God of the Hunt
Holy Cow, Hathor! You have lifted me up between your horns and I can glimpse the break of day on the horizon…
So, what do I do with this new life? Well, it’s back to my New Years Resolutions. Take up a handicraft: I start crocheting lessons in two weeks, and I have a beading class. And if I learn to crochet, I guess I will get serious about making rag rugs.
Then it’s back to community building. My neighbors are making me physically ill, and I find it harder and harder to navigate my apartment. So it’s time to look for someplace quieter and more accessible. I have requirements: must take me and my cat, be within CityLink/CityLift service, must be income-based, handicap-accessible AND–AND–have community space where I can gather the Pagani.
Once my SSI kicks in, I can be a professional volunteer. I currently give about 20 hours a month to Global Village, the Fair Trade store in Peoria Heights. I expect to increase those hours. I have attended a couple meetings with the Central Illinois Interfaith Alliance, and I may join one of their committees. I am investigating Common Security Clubs to see if I can combine my interests in permaculture/Peak Oil/Fair Trade/Pagan Pride.
I may be able to salvage my NYRs after all.
